Cine-concert
Commissioned by Lux – Scène Nationale de VALENCE for the Viva Cinema festival, Pionnières explores the poetic relationships between the cinema of two pioneering directors, Germaine Dulac and Loïs Weber, and musical performance, around the films Suspense and La Cigarette.
Alternately melodic, textured, acoustic or electric, the musical gesture, always chiseled, unfolds through a writing inseparable from the scenario and the powerful plasticity of the images of these two major avant-garde figures of silent cinema.
